A countrywoman
is condemned to death for having killed a husband
that beat her continuously. While in prison,
the woman learns to read and write, a knowledge
society had always denied her. When the time
comes to carry out the sentence, the force of
public opinion results in her sentence being
changed to 15 years of incarceration. Today,
she is free, married with two children and working
as a seamstress.
