1961-1964 : Studies theater direction at the Silvio d’Amico school, under
professor Orazio Costa. Rome

1965 : Studies opera direction (melodrama) at the Santa Sicilia
conservatory, under professor Orazio Costa. Rome

1967-1970 : Attends the faculty of history at the Sorbonne. Paris

1967-1969 : Completes a « stage » at the Paris Cinemateque, having been invited there by Henri Langlois and Marie Merson.

1968-69 : Completes an editing « stage » at the production company DOVIDIS, belonging to Pierre Nourisse.


Dates importantes :

1991: Member of the Jury San Sebastian Film Festival.

1992 : Member of the International FIPA TV jury in Cannes.

2003 : Member of the Film Festival in Seville

2000 - 2001 : Cinema professor at European Film College in Denmark

His cinematographic work has been influenced by three great filmmakers, Sayajit Ray, Akira Kurosawa, and Luis Buñuel. Furthermore, two meetings have marked his career. His friendships with Jorins Ivens and with animation director Norman McLaren.
